To The 31st
Cape Town International Kite Festival 2025!

In 2025, the Cape Town International Kite Festival proudly returns with a renewed spirit and a powerful new theme: #CourageToFly. Now in its 31st year, the festival has long been a symbol of hope, resilience, and unity, and this years event celebrates the bravery it takes to face lifes challenges – especially when it comes to mental health. For the first time since the pandemic, the festival will take place over two full days on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 October, marking a joyful return to the festivals much-loved extended format at Youngsfield Military Base in Ottery!

Organised annually by Cape Mental Health, the Cape Town International Kite Festival has been a beacon for mental health awareness since 1994. The event invites people of all ages and backgrounds to lift their eyes to the sky and take part in a shared experience that is as beautiful as it is meaningful. Each soaring kite represents not only creativity and freedom, but also the courage it takes to speak up, seek help, and support others on their mental health journeys.

Join Cape Mental Health this October for the Cape Town International Kite Festival to raise funds that fuel the vital mission of providing essential, cost-free mental healthcare services and interventions to those who require them most. By investing in children and youth, we lay the foundation for the prevention of mental health disorders, empowering young people to unleash their full potential and pursue their dreams without limitations.
