Cape Town International Kite Festival

Join the twenty-sixth Cape Town International Kite Festival virtually on 24th & 25th of October.

The Management and Board of Cape Mental Health wishes to announce the first-ever virtual Cape Town International Kite Festival to be held in October 2020 to promote mental health particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic and to raise much-needed funds for our work during these trying times.

This decision has been made in response to the global COVID-19 pandemic, the restrictions put in place by the South African government to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and, most importantly, to ensure the safety and well-being of our festival participants and supporters. This is an exciting opportunity to maintain much-loved aspects of the festival through innovative and creative virtual interactions and great online activities. Invited international and South African kiters will participate in our virtual kite festival and you will be able to experience the magic of their amazing kite creations through live-streamed kite-flying from their respective countries, giving you a truly international landscape. We also extend an invitation to our sponsors and service providers to join us in this wonderful opportunity to raise awareness of mental health and of Cape Mental Health, the oldest mental health organisation in South Africa.

We will be posting all developments via social media and will remain in contact to ensure #HopeOnTheRise for us all.
